Installing AnKing Deck
The AnKing deck is an extremely large, pre-made Anki deck designed for US medical school, primarily based on Step 1 and Step 2 content. It integrates tagged material from multiple resources into a single searchable system, allowing targeted study by topic rather than linear progression. It saves you a TON of time not having to create the cards, and it is directly relavent to your USMLE Step 1/2 exams.
After downloading the .apkg file, click it to open in Anki and enter import mode.
Importing may take several minutes due to the size of the deck. Once finished, close the import dialog and move to the Browser.
After import, select all AnKing cards and suspend them immediately. When importing Anking automatically puts ALL the cards as "new" cards, ready to study, however, with 42,000 cards that is impractical, and you should suspend them first before selectively unsuspending cards as you need them. The deck is meant to be used selectively through tagging and unsuspending specific topics, rather than studying the entire thing.
Usually students will cover a third party resource first (ex: a Boards & Beyond video), then find the corresponding videos' cards within Anking.
